Who is this lesson for?

  • Employees: add a finished time log, or start and stop the timer on a task or a memo.
  • Company admin: sees every row on Timesheet.

What does this page do?

From the menu: Timesheet. This is where hours land — from Log Time, from Start Timer, and from overtime after the shift. This lesson is how hours get onto the table. The next lesson is how a manager approves them or rejects them.

Before you start

  • Finish Time Log Settings.
  • You need permission to add time logs.
  • For overtime after the shift: turn on Auto overtime (create pending time log when clock-out is after shift end) in attendance settings.

Open Timesheet

From the menu: Timesheet. You reach the table: employee, task, memo, hours, and status.

Timesheet: Log Time marked, pending overtime memo Auto overtime (attendance)

Two ways to add hours from this page:

  • Log Time — a finished row (start, end, memo), then Save.
  • The header clock — Start Timer, a live clock. Stop it when you finish.

Log Time

Press Log Time. The page title is Log Time. The panel is TimeLog Details.

Log Time: TimeLog Details — Project, Task, Employee, start and end, Memo, then Save marked

FieldWhat it is
Project Optional.
Task Required, unless you tick Create New Task.
Employee Who worked these hours.
Start Date / Start Time When the work began.
End Date / End Time When the work ended. Total Hours fills from these times.
Memo What was done. Example: Working on new logo.

Then Save. Cancel returns to Timesheet without a row.

Start Timer

From the header clock choose Start Timer. The modal title is Start Timer.

Start Timer: Project, Task, Create New Task, Memo, Start Timer marked

FieldWhat it is
Project Optional.
Task The task the clock runs on. Or tick Create New Task.
Memo Required. What you are working on now.

Then Start Timer. Cancel closes without starting. On a task, Start Timer starts the same clock on that task.

While the clock runs, the row status is Active. Stop it when you finish — the hours then wait as Pending if approval is on.

The app

Plus opens Time tracker. Subtitle: Start a session on a task.

App Time tracker: Project, Task, Note, Start tracking marked

Then Start tracking. Pause, resume or stop from the same sheet, or from Time logs.

Overtime after the shift

When auto overtime is on, clock-out after the shift creates a pending time log. Memo: Auto overtime (attendance). It waits on Timesheet until a manager approves it or rejects it.

That is the same row in the next lesson.

Time tracker fields

FieldWhat it is
Project Optional. No project, or pick one.
Task Optional. Select a task…, or pick one.
Note What you are working on. Needed if there is no task.

What happens after?

  • A running timer shows as Active. After stop it becomes Pending if Timelog will require approval is on, or it counts at once if that switch is off.
  • Hours appear on the project and on reports after they are approved (when approval is on).

Common questions

The Start tracking button is inactive?
Pick a task or write a note.

No overtime was added for the employee after they clocked out late?
Auto overtime must be on, and the extra minutes must reach the overtime period.

Next: Approve or reject overtime.
