Convert a lead to a client
Convert a lead to a client from the profile, or let a stage change do it when Add to clients is ticked, and set the employee commission for that conversion.
On this page
Who is this lesson for?
- Deal agent or sales: you convert the lead after they accept the proposal, or when the deal reaches the stage you agreed on.
- Sales manager: you tick Add to clients on a stage, and you set the employee commission.
- The lead: they do not open the account. After the conversion they appear under Clients.
Before you start
- The contact should already be in Leads. Follow-ups are in Follow up on a lead, and the proposal is in Create and send a commercial or technical proposal.
- You need permission to add a client. To control commission on converting a lead to a client, you need permission to manage employee salary.
- You can convert from the website or from the app. You set commission on the website, on the employee salary.
- You do not need a Deal if you click Change To Client yourself. Automatic conversion needs a deal that reaches a stage with Add to clients ticked.
Change To Client
Open the lead. On the profile click Change To Client.

The same card has a stage dropdown. Do not change the stage now if you are converting by hand with Change To Client. Changing the stage for automatic conversion comes in a later step.
Save the client
The Add Client form opens with the name, email, phone, and company already filled.

Check the fields, then click Save. Follow-ups, calls, notes, deals, and accepted proposals move with the client. Accepted proposals become quotations.
From the app
Overview

On the contact, tap Convert to client, then confirm. Follow-ups, calls, and accepted proposals move with the client. Accepted proposals become quotations. When it succeeds you see Lead converted to client.
Change status opens the stage list. Use it after you have ticked Add to clients on that stage in Lead Settings.
Tick Add to clients on a stage
From the menu open Leads → Lead Settings. Stay on the Setup tab.

On the closing stage — here فوترة — tick Done and Add to clients, then click Save.
After you save, a client is created when a deal reaches this stage. Do not tick Add to clients on the default first stage.
Change the status so the client is created
After you save the tick, move the deal to that stage in any of these ways:
- On the profile, choose that stage from the dropdown.
- On Leads → Deals, drag the card into that column.
- On the app, tap Change status and pick the same stage.

When the deal reaches a stage that has Add to clients, the lead becomes a client. If there was no deal yet, choosing a stage other than the default creates a deal and then converts.
Employee commission from a converted lead
From the menu open Payroll → Employee Salary. Click Add Salary or Edit for the employee who should earn it. The full salary form is in Add employee salary.
In earnings, add a component. Set the value type to Commission, then open Commission settings.

- Commission from: choose Lead converted to client.
- How conversion commission is counted:
- Once when converted in this period: a fixed amount if they convert during this payroll period. Set Amount per conversion.
- Amounts collected after conversion: client payments after the conversion, in this payroll period.
- Invoices issued after conversion: client invoices issued after the conversion, in this payroll period.
- Applies to: usually This employee, the assigned agent.
Save the commission settings, then save the salary. The amount appears on the next payroll you generate that includes commissions.
What happens next?
- The contact is now a client. Open them from Clients.
- You can create an invoice from an accepted proposal.
- The deal stays on the board if you had one.
- Commission is added when you generate payroll for that period. It is not added at the moment of conversion, unless the count mode is Once when converted in this period and you generate that period.
Common questions
Should I convert by hand or when the stage changes?
Click Change To Client when you decide the moment. Tick Add to clients on a stage when every deal that reaches that stage should become a client.
What moves with the conversion?
Follow-ups, calls, notes, deals, and accepted proposals as quotations.
Do I need a deal first?
No, if you click Change To Client. Automatic conversion needs a deal on a stage that has Add to clients.
When is commission added to the salary?
When you generate payroll for that period, if the earning type is Commission and the source is Lead converted to client.
Can I convert before they accept the proposal?
Yes. If you need an invoice from that proposal, convert first while they are still a lead.
