Who is this lesson for?

  • Every person with a login: turns on Two-Factor Authentication for their account on this page. It is not a company-wide switch.
  • Company admin: uses the same page for their own login.

Before you start

  • Have access to the email on the account if you will use email codes.
  • To use Google Authenticator, install Authenticator on the phone (Android or iPhone) before you click Enable.

Open Security Settings

From the menu: Settings → Security Settings. Stay on Two-Factor Authentication.

Security Settings: Setup Using Email and Setup Using Google Authenticator

The grey note: increase your account’s security by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). A red or green dot on the tab shows whether 2FA is already active on your login.

Setup Using Email

Setup Using Email: Enable sends a code to your email for log in

Enabling this sends a code to your email for log in. Click Enable. Confirm when asked. After it works, the card shows Active and the button becomes Disable.

Setup Using Google Authenticator

Setup Using Google Authenticator: Enable, then scan the barcode on the phone

Use the Authenticator app to get codes even when the phone is offline. Click Enable. Scan the barcode in the app, then Validate 2FA and type a code from the app. Until you validate, the card may show pending.

When it is Active:

ButtonWhat it is
Disable Turns Authenticator off after you confirm.
Download Recovery Code Saves codes to use if you lose the phone. Keep them somewhere safe, not in the same phone.
Regenerate Recovery Code Makes new codes. Old downloaded codes stop working.

You can use email, Authenticator, or both.

What happens after you enable it?

  • The next login asks for a code after the password.
  • Email: a code arrives in the inbox. Authenticator: a code on the phone.
  • Recovery codes work if the phone is gone — only if you downloaded them while Authenticator was active.

Common questions

Email or Google Authenticator?
Email needs the inbox each time. Authenticator works offline. Many people enable Authenticator and keep recovery codes.

I lost the phone and the recovery codes?
You will need help from a company admin or Deexe support to get back in. Download the codes while you still have the phone.
