Set the app home for each role
On Dashboard settings → Mobile app, pick templates and one default per role. Employees who have not customized their home get that default. They can still edit, add a widget, or reset from the app.
On this page
Who is this lesson for?
- Company admin: chooses which home templates a role may use, and which one is the default.
- The employee: sees that default on the app. They can change their own home; that does not change the role default.
This is the employee app. The client home is a different tab — not this lesson.
Before you start
- You need permission to manage company settings.
- The modules you want on the home are enabled. Hidden modules do not show their widgets.
- The employee has the app and can open Home.
Open Mobile app
From the menu: Settings → Dashboard settings. Open the Mobile app tab.

Each role is a panel: templates for that role, then a table of Active and Default.
Templates for this role

Under Templates for this role, tap a card to include or exclude it. Ready templates are already built (Default, CRM, HRM…). Use them as they are. Pick Custom only when you want to choose the widgets yourself — what appears, the order, hide, or remove.
Ready templates:
| Template | What it favours |
|---|---|
| Default | The built-in app order and visibility. |
| CRM | Leads, clients, estimates. |
| HRM | Attendance, schedule, leave, people. |
| Project management | Tasks, projects, map, time logs. |
| Customer services | Tickets and client-facing widgets. |
| Finance | Invoices, payments, expenses. |
| Custom | You choose the widgets: move, show, hide, or remove them. |
Tapping a card saves that choice at once. You do not need Save layout for this step.
Mark the default

In the table:
| Column | What it is |
|---|---|
| Active | The employee may pick this template on the app. |
| Default | Exactly one per role. The employee who has not customized their home gets this one. |
| Template | The name of the card you included. |
An employee with several roles uses the default of their first role. If the role has no assignment, the app uses its built-in defaults.
Ready templates or Custom
Open Widgets… on the row.

On a ready template this list is a preview. You cannot move, add, or remove widgets there.
On a Custom row, Widgets… is the editor. You control the layout:
| Choice | What it does |
|---|---|
| Drag or arrows | Move a widget up or down. |
| Show on mobile home | Off: the widget is hidden. The employee can show it again in their layout editor. |
| Remove from template | The widget is not on this home and is not listed in the app editor for this default. Clear the tick to put it back. |
Then Save layout. Edits on a ready template are not stored — switch that row to Custom first.
Save layout

Click Save layout after you change Active, Default, order, or visibility. Template cards already saved when you tapped them.
Clear on a role removes that role’s assignment. The app then uses built-in defaults until you set a template again.
What the employee sees
On the app home: attendance, the daily schedule, and Quick services in categories (HR, CRM, projects, ecommerce…).

That layout is the role default — until the employee changes it.
The employee edits their home
Long-press the home. Cancel, Edit and Done appear. A minus on a block hides it.

From the same edit menu they can pick a company template (if you made more than one active), change Services layout, or Reset Home Screen — that returns them to the role default.
Done keeps their personal layout. It does not change the default you set for the role.
Add a widget
On a services group, tap Add Widget. Or from edit: Add Widget.

Search, pick a card, then add it. The group on home follows the category (HR, ecommerce, bookings…).

What happens after you save?
- An employee who never customized their home gets the role default the next time they open the app.
- An employee who already customized keeps their home until they reset it.
- Active templates appear under Company templates on the app.
Common questions
Ready template or Custom?
Ready templates stay as they are. Custom is when you choose, move, hide, or remove widgets yourself.
Hide or Remove from template?
Hidden: the employee can show it again. Removed: it is not offered on that default.
Which role’s default do they get?
The first role on their profile. Other roles’ defaults are not used until that first role changes.
They changed the home and you changed the default?
Their personal layout stays. They must Reset Home Screen to pick up the new default.
Web dashboard or this page?
The Web dashboard tab is the website home. This tab is the employee app only.
Next: Set the client app home.
