Who is this lesson for?

  • Company admin: sets how timers stop, whether hours need approval, and who gets time-log reminders and the daily report.
  • Employees: start and stop timers on tasks. They do not open this page.

Before you start

  • You need permission to manage Time Log Settings.
  • Office hours must be set if you use auto-stop.

Open Time Log Settings

From the menu: Settings → Time Log Settings.

Time Log Settings: four switches and Save, Time Log Settings marked in the settings list

The four switches

SwitchWhat it does
Stop timer automatically after office time On: any open timer stops at the end of office hours.
Timelog will require approval On: hours wait for a manager before they count.
Send time tracker reminders On: a time field appears. The team gets a reminder at that time to start or stop the tracker.
Send Daily Timelog Report On: a roles list appears. Those roles get the daily time-log email.

Leave a switch off if you do not need it. Then Save.

What happens after you save?

  • Open timers follow auto-stop if you turned it on.
  • New time logs wait for approval if you turned that on.
  • Tracker reminders and the daily report go out only when their switches are on, at the time and to the roles you picked.

Common questions

I do not see the time or the roles?
Turn the matching switch on. The extra field appears under it.

Hours are missing from reports?
If approval is on, they appear after a manager approves them.
