A dashboard for each role
On Dashboard settings → Web dashboard, pick the layout, the first page, and a ready template for each role — Sales sees CRM, HR sees HRM, an employee can open the tasks board.

Who is this lesson for?
- Company admin: decides what each role sees when they open Dashboard.
- The employee: does not open this page. They see the layout of their first role.
Before you start
- You need permission to manage company settings.
- Roles already exist (see Add roles and set permissions).
- The modules you want on the dashboard are enabled. Hidden modules do not show their widgets.
- Company identity is in Set company name, logos, colour and font.
This page is the web dashboard for employees. The mobile home is the Mobile app tab. The client home is Client app in Settings — not here.
Open Web dashboard
From the menu: Settings → Dashboard settings. Stay on the Web dashboard tab.

Each role is a panel: home page and dashboard content for that role. Open the role you want to set.
Choose the dashboard layout

| Layout | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Legacy dashboard | Keep the current dashboard as it is. Ready templates and Arrange widgets stay hidden. |
| Compact Operational | Dense queues, quick actions and daily work. This is a layout — not the Dashboard builder. |
Example: Sales uses Compact Operational. HR uses Compact Operational too, with a different template in the next step.
The page that opens from Dashboard
The field Open this page from Dashboard is the first screen after login for that role.

- Keep Dashboard if they should see widgets. Ready templates and Arrange widgets appear only then, and only if the layout is not Legacy.
- Pick another page if they should skip widgets: Tasks board for an employee, Deals for sales, Attendance for HR.
Ready templates
When the layout is not Legacy and the first page is Dashboard, a strip of Ready templates appears. Start from one, then change widgets later.

| Template | What it loads |
|---|---|
| Default operational | Balanced queues and service cards. |
| CRM | Leads, clients, deals and sales tasks. |
| HRM | People, attendance, leave and advances. |
| Project management | Projects, tasks and time logs. |
| Customer services | Support tickets and customer activity. |
| Finance | Invoices, payments, expenses and estimates. |
Example: Sales → CRM. HR → HRM. Saved templates you created in the builder appear in the same strip.

Save
Click Save on that role. Reset layout returns it to Legacy and clears the template selection.
Arrange widgets opens the builder for this role — next lesson.

What happens after you save?
- Anyone with that role opens the page you picked. If it is Dashboard, they see that layout and template.
- A person with more than one role uses the dashboard of the role the system treats as first.
- Widgets for a disabled module do not appear, even if the template lists them.
Common questions
Templates and Arrange widgets disappeared?
Either the first page is not Dashboard, or the layout is Legacy. Set both, then save.
How do I go back to the old dashboard?
Choose Legacy dashboard, then Save. Or Reset layout.
Where is the client home?
Settings → Client app → Home screen. Not this tab.
Compact Operational or Dashboard builder?
Compact Operational is one of the two layouts. Dashboard builder (Arrange widgets) is the editor on top of Compact Operational.
Next: Dashboard builder.
